I brought my 2 year old Yorkie (he's 3 now) last year from Portland Oregon to HNL Airport. It was SO MUCH WORK, but worth it.
Your yorkie cannot fly in the cabin, even if you have someone travel with him/her. I used Hawaiian Airlines and they said you can have someone else check the dog, have the dog fly alone, and have the dog released to someone else. The paperwork is done through the Department of Agriculture, there's a section for the name of the person sending the dog from the original location and the name of someone picking the dog up. Since I flew with my dog, my name was on both sections. Let me know if you have more questions, its' a lot of work, but like I said, it's so worth it. I wouldn't have been able to bear putting my dog in quarantine! |
