Go to a vet and have a conversation with them. If she is that upset it might be better if she slept for most of the trip back home. Some vets recommend AceProm and some use Valium (diazepam). Some use benadryl but it may not last the 5 hours -- be sure to tell the vet the length of the flight.


Most airlines will not let you take the dog out of the bag and make you keep it zipped up -- they don't want to have to deal with any of the other passengers who may not be as fond of dogs.

Sometimes putting their favorite toy in the bag with them helps, even if it squeaks sometimes (usually is not as loud as some kids are on the plane).
A friend of mine buys something at Feeders Supply that is suppose to help with calmness when they travel in the car.
