Raised scab-like bumps on back- advice please? Let me preface this by saying, Poppy has had scabs on her head because she has a habit of REALLY annoying the cats who have swatted her away and she gets a little cut then it heals up.
I've just never seen this on her back.
Last night I noticed when I scratch her back her little leg would shake shake shake and I could feel tiny little scab-like bumps. They're pinkish brown. Today I gave her a bath in oatmeal shampoo to 1. sooth whatever is going on and 2. so when she was wet , I could part her hair easier and see what's there. There's maybe 5 or 6 tiny little bumps, all on the same part of her back.
They are obviously itchy or at least sensitive since when I scratched her back, she reacted.
I can't figure out if this is a "see the vet" situation or not. I don't want to wait on anything to get worse, but she's never had any problems and like I said, these bumps slightly resemble the bumps from the cat swats.
The internet is scaring the heck out of me, but it doesn't look like any of the pictures I am seeing online, which is offering a great sense of relief, especially since I've seen and know the cause of this before.
I need to make sure so I wanted to seek out opinions here. I know the vet is the only way to know for sure but taking her in for an office visit tomorrow will cost nearly 100dollars plus whatever tests they need to run and if it turns out it's not an emergency, I'd rather not go through that.
Does this sound like an emergency to anyone??? |
