Def get more pads! I use the washable kind and have about 8 that I rotate thru. If the new pup is a male and is already lifting leg, then it can help to put a filled water of bottle in the middle of the pad as a place to mark.
I always separate the new puppy when they're little bc of the potential for size related injuries and playing. I think around 6-10 mths old was when I put them together.
