You might experiment with different kinds of coats. Eddie still freaks out when anything touches his, uh, weiner. He tolerates and appreciates lighter coats and simpler designs that allow freedom of movement. His current favorite is a wool coat that fits like a horse blanket, with the strap safely avoiding his sensitive area. Fleece is also a wonderful fabric because it stays warm when wet. In below zero cold, I'll add a layer of nylon on top to break the wind.

I went through a stage where I thought they needed heavier coats with legs and arms, but they struggled to walk. I found lighter coats worked just as well if I kept them moving on walks.
