Default Here are some things that helped me when I HAD TO QUIT because of health problems!

I WANT TO QUIT! I NEED TO QUIT! I WILL QUIT!

I WILL SUCCEED!! GOOD LUCK!!

DOWN DEEP IN YOUR HEART, HAVE THE WILL TO LIVE!!!!

DRINK PLENTY OF WATER – CAN EVEN SIP WATER THROUGH A STRAW. It helps.

TAKE DEEP BREATHS AND HOLD TO COUNT OF 3 AND EXHALE SLOWLY THROUGH PURSED LIPS TO THE COUNT OF 5 OR 6 (EXHALE JUST LIKE YOU WOULD EXHALE CIGARETTE SMOKE). You exhale to twice the number of what you inhale. That’s the secret for your lungs.

STAY AWAY FROM OTHER SMOKERS!! – THROW AWAY CIGARETTES, LIGHTERS, ASHTRAYS.

KEEP YOUR HANDS BUSY.

IF YOU FEEL THE NEED TO SNACK – TRY:
CARROTS
SUNFLOWER SEEDS
APPLES
CELERY
RAISINS
SUGARLESS GUM
SUGARLESS HARD CANDY
FRUITS (RAW)
VEGETABLES (RAW)

CUT A DRINKING STRAW INTO CIGARETTE-SIZE PIECES AND SEAL ONE END WITH A CIGARETTE LIGHTER – THEN, INHALE AIR THROUGH STRAW.

W A L K ! ! !

GET EXERCISE!! DON’T JUST SIT AROUND THE HOUSE – GET SOME EXERCISE!!

SIT IN NON-SMOKING AREAS AT RESTAURANTS, ETC.

USE STRAW TO CHEW ON.

USE SWIZZLE STICKS TO CHEW ON.

USE A TOOTHPICK TO KEEP HANDS BUSY.

BRUSH TEETH 3-4 TIMES A DAY.

ASK PEOPLE NOT TO SMOKE IN YOUR HOUSE OR IN YOUR CAR AND IF YOU’RE AROUND SOMEONE WHO IS SMOKING, LEAVE THE AREA.

GET YOUR CAR DETAILED TO GET CIGARETTE SMOKE OUT OF IT!

GET UP FROM THE TABLE AND GO OUTSIDE AND WALK AROUND THE HOUSE AFTER EATING OR GO BRUSH YOUR TEETH AFTER EATING.

LIE DOWN AND TAKE DEEP BREATHS.

GOOD LUCK – BELIEVE IN YOURSELF - YOU CAN SUCCEED AND QUIT FOR YOUSELF BECAUSE YOU WANT TO - NOT BECAUSE SOMEONE ELSE WANTS YOU TO QUIT!!!!!
