Glad to hear she is making progress. I would ask your vet's office for advice about the swollen anus and whether or not you can apply something to it. Could be that her anal glands are full and need to be expressed too.
As for wet food, that depends on your girl's usual eating habits. A lot of wet food would make my guys sick. It's too rich for them. Nancy posted some great info above, although I personally would stay away from milk/dairy products, and I wouldn't experiment with green beans unless you already know your pup tolerates them well (my guys do not).
I would go with exercise and pumpkin, and have the anal glands checked. If your pup continues to have problems eliminating, definitely have the vet take a look.
