I vote for butting out and leaving well enough alone. They will find each other eventually and start to play, or maybe they will just coexist. I would be happy that they get along.
My boys did not play at first. Max just wanted show off for Teddy. Then he allowed Teddy to retrieve toys with him when playing fetch. Although they bonded right away and did everything together, it was months before they started playing with one another without human interaction.
