I was in Miami when Andrew hit.. I can remember the horror the shock and just how "heavy" life got to be. It was dirty, rats in the garbage pulled out of house and put on streets.. the stress. But.. for the ones who could hang on life slowly got better...

Each year I would do an activity with my middle schools students.. and one of the essay questions would be.. "Where were you when Andrew hit?" Or some variation of that theme. One year I asked the question and realized the student were not even born, or were infants when Andrew hit Miami. I then realized.. life did go on even if I didn't notice

I hope your town heals faster than you think and you have the healing moment that I had when you realized life was healed and moved on.

Also... we need to get more national attention and help from the Government. Good luck and well wishes
