Can he sleep with you...? I have a little foster who is snuggling with my girls on the big bed and he can hold both #1 & #2 all night.
This is just my opinion but, when you are not home then that is when you should confine your dog (I prefer x-pen or a gated puppy safe room) and when you ARE home...pup should be with you.
