My saving grace was to teach Harley the "Stay" command and the "leave it" command. We're still working on it, but my plan for Christmas is to have him sit in the photo area, with his paw wrapped around a reindeer toy, and looking at me... we've been practicing, (no useable shots yet) essentially I put him in a stay, then place the toy then if he looks at it I say the leave it command and draw his eyes towards me, then I click like crazy... then have a release command so that he has to stay until you release him...
