She should have taken the dog home and gotten a leash or another carrier, not endanger it by leaving it in a car while she played. Or better yet, leave the dog home in air conditioning as she clearly did not need the dog as a service animal.  |

Last week at our vet, someone left a smaller dog in their car right in front of the office. Although it wasn't that hot and the window was down about 5 inches, it was still inappropriate, wrong, and dangerous. The owner was inside with another animal.
Reminded me of a recent story of a person who brought their Yorkie to the vet and then went out to lunch and left the dog to die in the car.
