Hi, I've just found this site whilst searching for some information about Yorkies. I've recently adopted an elderly (we think she is about 10yrs) Yorkie girl, after she ran in front of my car and nearly got hit. After stopping to get her off the road I took her home, and to cut a long story short, she went to the police and dog pound, but her owner decided they didn't want to pay the release fee so she came to live with us.
She's had a lot of problems - she was very thin and matted when we got her, and had teeth sticking out of her mouth. She has had to have all her teeth removed by the vet as they were all rotten, and then she had to have an emergency spay due to pyometra, so she's been an expensive girl so far!
To be perfectly honest I have never been a Yorkie fan, I'm a big dog person really, but now I have got her, she has completely won us all over. My husband and son didn't want a little dog, but now they cuddle her on the couch and my son takes her to bed with him
As I have absolutely no knowledge of Yorkies I'm hoping that a few of you could perhaps keep me on the straight and narrow

and I'm sure this site will be very useful. Sorry this has turned into a bit of an essay
