Tea' went into labor around 7 pm last night and a fluid filled sac presented but the pup wasnt coming down. Called the vet and he said to give her an hour of pushing and then head in. She wasn't progressing, and the vet is 40 mins. away..so off we went. Better safe than sorry in my book.
At the vet's Tea' starting pushing harder with each contraction and all the vet could feel was what he thought was a back foot coming forward with the contraction and then receding...finallllllly...he was able to get ahold of the foot and out came girl puppy #1, breech
She took her time but delivered two more pups at his office, a girl and a boy. We took xrays and it showed two more. Soooo, he sent us home and Tea' delivered two more girls ~ finally ~ by 2 am ~ for a total of 5 babies.... a very long night for poor Tea and our family....but a very happy ending!
Only have had a few hours sleep and I need to get my son to school. Will post pictures later!!!
