Harley's symptoms sound like a lot of Jada's too. She can't have chicken either. She was fine with chicken the first year we had her, then she started having episodes of loose stools several times a day, then a severe episode of itching last summer. It took a while to narrow it down to chicken. We switched food several times, first just going grain free which helped some and then after an upset tummy where I was giving chicken and rice, I noticed she started itching really bad again. We changed her to an LID diet of sweet potato and venison from Natural Balance and it has made a world of difference. I accidentally gave her a tiny bit of a treat that contained chicken liver...her itching was so bad I had to take her to the vet for a shot.
It takes a few weeks when you change the diet to see if it is going to work for the itching. |
