Default Calming dog nerves when we travel

Our yorkie is 13 months old now and we have travelled several times with her. She does okay riding in the car, but she is a nervous wreck at night when we try to sleep. She will bark incessantly if we put her in the bathroom (I take a gate from home and put it in the bathroom door so she can see us - just like at home where she sleeps just fine). If I let her out then she wants to be in bed with us, but if she is in bed with someone and they move, she acts like she is going to rip us to shreds with the most menacing growl. She's never actually bitten us, but no one gets any sleep.

We have an overnight trip coming up and I really do not want to board her as she has never been boarded and I'm afraid it will really freak her out, but I can't have her barking and disturbing the other guests at the hotel and I can't sit up with her all night either. Is there anything the vet can give us to calm her down over night?
