I would think the pup would be fine to wait a week to see the vet as long as there are no health issues you are worried about. I agree with the others though, the sooner the better just so you know for sure he is healthy and won't be passing anything to your other dog.

As for the introduction, I am not sure how your chocolate lab is with other dogs/puppies. If good, then I'd introduce them. We always just put the puppy down with the other dogs and let them really check her out (all our dogs are females). We always tried to give the other dogs plenty of attention, especially when paying attention to the puppy, just so they won't become jealous.

We had different issues when it comes to food. Our puppies would only eat what the other dogs were eating. We have LeBistro feeders and the food is out all the time. When we tried to get the puppy to eat her puppy food, she wouldn't have anything to do with it and would only eat what the other dogs ate. We had this issue with the last couple puppies we got. So, basically they switched over to what the other dogs ate immediately and completely. No real issues other than slightly soft poos for a couple days. We feed a good all life stages food (Nature's Variety Praire formulas) so it worked out well for all our dogs.

Our puppies slept with us from day one when we got them. I am usually a pretty light sleeper and they learned quickly that I'm the one that will take them outside in the middle of the night. I know this is contradictory to what some of the other people are telling you, but it worked for us.

Good luck. Welcome to YT!
