I added a senior boy to our house years ago, and my young boy didn't react well. It was a long battle to get him over the jealousy and possessiveness.

When the senior boy died, I added a female pup, and she whipped my jealous boy into shape quickly. There are still jealousy issues because the boy is a bit of a problem child, but the female was a much better fit.
