Milk!!! In response to some recent questions about milk........
I had an elderly cat that was so sick - couldn't keep anything down and wouldn't eat much ---but loved milk to death. So, I bought lactose-free milk for her.
I can't see why a dog couldn't have lactose-free milk occasionally. It's in the dairly section for people who are lactose-intolerant.
It costs a little more - but has a long shelf life and would last one or two little dogs a long time ---plus, of course, we can even use it. I'm not a milk drinker, but often used it for cooking, etc.
This is just something I have done on my own -- and only occasionally. Can't see why it wouldn't be a good substitute once in a while.
Anyone have some "solid documented evidence" (not guessing) why a dog can't tolerate or shouldn't have Lactose-free milk?

PS: I don't use it very often - because my dogs love their water!!! And - eat practically everything else in the world. |
