I have been through the livershunt surgery with my Misty, but her's was not discovered until she was almost 2.

Thanks to you guys and some research I've done since the 'diagnosis', I've come to realize that the vet didn't perform the test correctly. No.. Sophie wasn't fasted. The vet merely asked about the time of her last meal. Her BA level was 12.6 at the time of testing, and I estimate that she had last eaten 3 hours before. I had an appointment to see a specialist on Monday, but I spoke with my vet today and we agreed that I could bring Sophie in on Monday at 8:00, after having fasted all night, they would draw blood, I would return home to feed her and return her there for another blood draw 2 hours after she'd eaten. I should have those results on Tuesday. If they still show a problem, we have an appointment in Bham on Wednesday.

I do so appreciate all of the prayers and kind thoughts. Like I said before, I am hoping and praying that she will check out to be 100% A-OK! I will keep you guys posted.

The breeder's guarantee is a replacement pup. I don't want a replacement pup! A partial refund to help defray expenses - should she have a liver shunt- would be appreciated. Also, the breeder doesn't plan to breed anymore because the dam had to have a c-section this time, so there won't be a replacement pup available.

MMYorkies, what were your yorkies physical symptoms? Sophie sleeps ALOT during the day (which could be attributed to the fact that she's only 10 weeks old), and at times she has to be coaxed into playing. She has a pretty good appetite and has gained 2 oz in the past 10 days.
