Default So proud of Brandi!

My Brandi was a 7 yr old rescue when I got her. She was used strictly for breeding and as a result didn't really have any socialization skills at all. She was kept in a crate for most of her life. Because of this, she either had no interest in other dogs or she would snap at them. She's gotten much better since I got her but she still had a long way to go.

This weekend, I had the opportunity to dogsit my friend's yorkie and it has been wonderful. Brandi did not get possessive or jealous. It was like she knew Scooter needed a little extra attention so that he wouldn't be so scared. I got him on Friday and by Saturday, I had a little yorkie trail following me around the house. Both of them followed me everywhere I went. Scooter was beginning to relax enough to even play. He still hasn't eaten as much but his owner is coming to pick him up tonight so I'm sure once he gets home he will eat much better.

Anyway for the first time in 4 yrs, Brandi (she's 11 now) has started playing with him, not much but I've never seen her play with any dog ever! Scooter is 5 yrs old and still likes to play. I was so happy to see her finally playing.

Now my cat on the otherhand was more like "Oh Gawd, there's two of them" and has been in hiding since Friday. She comes out to eat and lounge on the deck but she's been keeping her distance. Oh and the other thing, not having a male pet, poor Scooter did his fair share of marking. At first I was like, "wow you potty alot" then it darn on me he was marking.
