I certainly agree that donating it to a needy family or organization would be a very nice gesture, but...
I have bought "new" food whilst having some left over from the older. I sprinkled it out on the yard near our Pine Trees. The Birds and Squirrels love it, and, I think it's helped the Squirrels be more healthy, and able to run from my guys better !
