Well, in order to trim the hair off the ears you need a trimmer, you can get one at CVS or Walgreens or Rite aid, a cordless that men use to do their mustache is very safe, it can not hurt the puppy . you need to be more careful with scisors but if you get someone to help you holding your puppy i am sure you can do it safely.
The weight of the hair holds the ears down sometimes.
