Oh, 1 question, What are dog shows actually called. I know they are not just called "Dog Shows".
THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

If you go to the American Kennel Club site; www.akc.org; there are many great articles for folks new to showing, that answer many of the questions you will have. It is a great starting place. The term "showing your dog", here in North America, means that you are entering your dog in Conformation Shows in order to Champion your dog short form is Ch, once your dog has earned the requisite points and majors. That is all explained in the akc web site.

Dog Shows for conformation are called Conformation Shows; then there are many other types of shows broadly classed as Performance Sports; Obedience and Rally Competitions as well.

If you goto the forum here entitled Showing you can read up on old threads; for some more info.
