And in those situations, it is appropriate to ask for a referral to a board certified veterinary nutritionist with expertise in situations like this. I'm sure of the one or two dogs who needed surgery a second time there were thousands of others who didn't. BTW, I'm sure that Linda44's vet had a very good reason for selecting K/D.
