We have had five hawks circling high over our Yorkies (we were with them) on my parents' deck. We grabbed the girls and ran inside. We have also had hawks land in our trees just off the deck. Too scary. The girls are never on the deck alone. We also have scattered chairs around the deck so there is some cover and we have a giant umbrella up, but we are still out there with them. If we see a hawk in the area, we take them inside.
