[Foster Mom]

A good friend of mine has a girl yorkie, she is around 10 years old. Lately she has noticed the dog feels lighter and she can feel her ribs now, and her tummy once was round is now flat. She has all apperances of losing weight but yet she recently took her in to have her weighed and she still weighs the same. She took her in a week later just to confirm and the result was the same. I guess my question is, what would cause this? She had a recent vet exam and is in good health. Is it possible her weight is just shifting with age? Is that even possible? I had absolutely no advice, and thought I would ask here. She said she does not know if she should be concerned or not as this seems very strange....

I have never heard of such a thing. A dog appearing smaller and lighter and to be able to feel ribs now without the dog loosing weight....I don't get it???
