Default Puppies ears

Hi, If they bend back, you don't really have to bother taping. They will come forward and stand on their own.
The ones that flop forward are the problem to stand erect. Those you have to tape. I start shaving the ears at about 4 weeks and will start to tape them at about 6 weeks if they are real floppy.
Sometimes the ears can be properly up then flop at teething time but they will come back up. If they do that and don't come back up in a day or two, I tape them again and they are usually up on their own pretty quick.
