The first months of a puppy's life are the most crucial ones.
It goes through several developmental processes and needs to identify and relate to its own species therefore being with its mother is very important. This also gives the puppy the opportunity to socialize with both humans and other dogs.
Aside from that clinical practice shows puppies that have been seperated from their mom as early as 6weeks show a handicap in developing adult social skills.
