I place my pups when they are ready.
About 9 - 10 wks, sometimes later.
5 weeks are too young, they are not completely weaned.
Plus they are not eating solid food, nor are they socialized.
The Dams start socializing the pups between 6 - 8wks.
In Calif it is Law now, a puppy can not be sold under 8wks.
Check you State, there are other States that have this law too.
