This was actually my point. There are so many people who just give up their dog because it barks, or runs in circles or wants to be played with all the time, and needs food and love and attention and it won't sit in my lap and let me snuggle and cuddle it and I really wanted a laid back lap dog.....
My kids take a lot of time driving them to school and football practice and work and cheer and to buy school clothes and to the movies with their friends, etc. I knew when I had kids it would be a job-a lifetime commitment. To me, dogs are the same way. You make a commitment to love them and take care of them and their needs, even if you are dead tired because you had to be up at 4am and your office got broken into and things are crazy and hectic. You take care of them. You dont just give them away because they "aren't what I expected".
I see it so much here and other places and it's just sickening. It makes my heart ache that there are so many people out there that just don't care what they're doing to an animal (or a child-don't get me started on moms who leave their babies in dumpsters!!).
I guess I just needed to vent
