Science Diet ID is best for pancreatitis, but you have to buy it from your vet. I also feed my dogs Flint River Ranch dry food. Its an excellent dogfood with low protein. Also, another thing with pancreatitis is the vomiting. I keep an antinausea on hand at all times that the vet gave me. This helps alot.. Hope your baby is feeling better!! |
Low protein is a not a "major key" for pancreatitis. Dogs with pancreatitis are usually placed on low residue, low fat, and
moderate protein diets. Science Diet ID is not the only Rx food that is used for pancreatitis and in fact Royal Canin Gastrointestinal lowfat is the lowest fat commercial food on the market for pancreatitis dogs. I can buy it from my vet, or I can walk into Petsmart with my prescription card and buy it there.
