I did think of something else that was an issue when I was looking for Lucy. There seems to be two different " varieties?" of SCWT. The Irish and the American, the way it was explained to me the Irish is a thinner softer coat, also a little more playful or rambunctious perhaps a bit smaller and darker coloring. I chose an "american" bred, Lucy is quite large, very light cream coloring (as an adult)(hardly any grey thru out muzzle and ears) very large black nose and paw pads., and VERY mellow. My neighbor has an Irish type and he is really quite different.Best to google "Irish wheaten terrier" and look at the difference in the different breeders full grown dogs.
