Being originally from AL, I hated to see them on the non-happy list. Every single person I know from Alabama is always so happy and cheerful. And everyone is so nice, courteous, well mannered when you go out in public. It's a complete different story in PA. Most people we come into contact with here are just downright rude and ugly, no manners at all. Even our neighbors are not all that friendly. But with the unemployment as high as it is in AL, I can understand why some people might be unhappy. But again, I love AL. It is my home state and a wonderful place. There is so much to do, especially with all the rivers, lakes, etc. I hope these sad people in AL will find something to smile about! Believe me, I know from experience....you may think Alabama is too quiet and boring at times but once you move 13 hours away, you will miss it like crazy! LOL.
