Puppies are just like skin kids they learn so fast.
I dread to say that your hubby my well be correct, who knows.
Our new baby Robbie is now ten weeks old and we have had him for just two weeks.
We got no sleep on the first night and even less on the second night.
I discovered that when the little guy screamed and I mean he really did scream it sounded terrible and heart wrenching so I jump out of bed no matter what time it is and pick the little man up.
After a few minutes he fell to sleep on my knee so I put him back in his cage.
Within a short time he kicks off again and once more I am out of bed to nurse him again. This routine went on all through the first week and was in fact getting worse as he started doing it during the day.
Then I came on here and did a bit of research to see if I could learn from those who know and understand more than I do and I discovered that I was actually
TRAINING him to do this at night by going to him and picking him up. I also learned that if I was not training him then he was for sure training me so we decided to follow advice and let the poor guy scream.
After two consecutive nights of no sleep he stopped suddenly and has not done it since so we now get a full nights rest along with him.
I tell you of my experience in the hope that you can relate to the fact that your little love may well have been trained by you to potty only when you are outside with her.
I now put mine out in the yard every half hour or so and leave him there for about ten minutes.
He is not house broken yet by any means but he now knows that when he is put in the yard in the same place every time he is expected to perform. Some times he obliges me but more often than not he don't but I know he will get the hang of it soon.

One thing is for sure....you can't help but love them can you....lol
