 Skin is getting better
When we first adopted Fergie she was a scratching machine. It was horrible. You may remember my initial posts that she was scratching and chewing herself raw; to the point of bleeding.
Well, we used the Aloe & Oatmeal shampoo that the vet suggested last week and then had her on her medication for the skin as well. She has a couple of days of meds left (boy she doesn't like taking pills).
The good news is that her scratching is WAY down and we haven't seen her chewing at all over the last few days. The sores are starting to scab over and dry out so she isn't reopening them which is awesome news. It's still tender; she's leery of the comb because it catches the scabs and sores and some are still sensitive so I have to be very careful when I comb her out.
Praying this continues and we can clear up the skin completely. I think she's so much happier since she's not chewing her legs off. |
