I would definitely report this girl to her boss.

Having been fortunate to have found and saved a stolen dog for one of my puppy buyers, I am shocked at what some folks will do, with an entitlement attitude. Just because you want something you don't have, doesn't give anyone the right to steal it.

Yes, make sure your dogs are micro-chipped and registered as well--fill in the paperwork and pay the extra fees--otherwise the job is half done, as is the protection. Take pictures of your dogs, so you have them from all angles. Have a tag on the collar with your phone number, don't put the dog's name on the tag. And in this day and age, don't let a stranger pick up or hold your dog--they could run with it.
