Walks; if Bentley is not evidencing signs of limping, stiffness, pain after your one hour walks, then I would continue those walks, as it is important to keep those legs muscles healthy and strong. Plus all dogs need stimulation and this sounds like something you both enjoy a lot.

Look at joint supplements; lots of threads on this as to which supplement for joint health you might like to add to his food.

Weight management is an important control factor for any joint problems. Keep Bentley's weight under control, think about lean and "mean" lol.

Finally I will add in; swimming, it is still hot here, and a kiddy pool can provide lots of fun enjoyment for you both. And swimming is hands down one of the best exercises for any joints that are compromised.
Excellent post. These are all things I was told when Lulu was diagnosed. She did require surgery on her right rear leg, but so far it's not needed on her left rear leg. She takes Dasuquin & used to get an Omega 3 supplement but due to her recent bout with pancreatits, she will no longer be getting that.
