That is the down side. Things can get pricey. But where else can you go straight from work or school and go to the beach. A lot of people here also go to the beach before work/school. LOL
The only thing I miss about the mainland is that you can drive for days and enjoy the seasons. It's always spring/summer here and you can go around the whole island in a matter of a couple hours.
