Wendell is about 80% trained, so this setup works well for workdays. He was 2 years old when we adopted him. From what we could tell, his previous owner was a stay-at-home Yorkie mom, so he wasn't accustomed to having to "hold it" for long periods of time. We have a dog walker mid-day, but he still uses his weedle pad now and then. The pen gives him room to have access to the pad and still keeps the house clean.
We have two other dogs who have run of the house, but they LOVE Wendell's condo, and run in there every time we open the door. The cats sleep in there too when they get a chance.
I like the idea of vinyl flooring from Lowes - I never thought of that. Just another reason I love YT, I always learn new ideas here.
