Is she accustomed to being in a crate? If not, then try an xpen. She may be upset about being crated.

Also, be sure she gets enough exercise and stimulation when you are home to wear her out. If you can, walk her or play with her before you have to leave her. Don't make a big fuss when you leave or return. Be matter of fact.
