Agree 100%. This has worked wonders on Ozzy. Whenever he starts thinking he's in charge, we start doing crazy zig zags and about faces for about 10 mins. By the time we're done he's looking to me completely as the leader. Make sure to keep her on a short leash until she's totally trained. For Ozzy, while we walk to the "go" spot, he's on short leash. When we get to the "go" spot, I give him some space, but stay in the one area until he's done.
It really is important that you start off the walks correctly. In other words, YOU go out the door first. Literally put yourself in front of the dog at the door, so she knows she needs to follow you. If she jumps out front, go back in and do it again. Keep doing this until she figures out what is the right thing to do.
Also, don't jerk the dog around on leash. Simply lead in a calm, assertive manner, and don't feel the need to constantly look to see what SHE is doing or where she is. As leader, she needs to be looking at YOU to figure out where SHE needs to be.
