I just spoke with the vet and they are not going to do anything today with that wound. Her labs are back and her white blood count is extremely high and toxicity is noted; so they have added a second antibiotic. She is now on Clavamox and Zenaquing to cover both gram neg and pos bacteria. Her blood sugar is very low so they force fed her this morning...and she is still licking at the food a bit.

My vet is off today and the vet on today feels that they are on the right track with her. I had asked about a specialist but they feel that she is fine where she is. I know them well enough to know that if they had any doubt about what they were doing, they would refer her out.

Oh, and she had a bit of a cough this morning. He was happy about that as it will help her to clear that lung out.

I am just horrified that this poor thing was left that way for so long. I do think it was longer than the three days the person who surrendered her claimed....but I will never know for sure. Really does not matter....we just have to deal with what we have now.
