I let it air dry the rest and it gives a slight wet look and crunch. After it's all dry, I use my hands and break it up some.
So if I use a diffuser to dry my hair 100% of the way it will not be crunchy or have a wet look? The wet look reminds me of the cholas (no offense to anyone) in the 90s with full on wet look curly/wavy hair but their hair was dry. I am trying to avoid that look. Do they sell diffusers by themselves? so I don't have to buy a new dryer? |
Yep! I will not do my hair without a diffuser. The key to a diffuser is HIGH heat LOW setting. Blasting it with HIGH heat will only create a GIANT S.O.S pad..it does take some time but the results are well worth it.
Yes you can purchase a diffuser by itself, I have seen them at Sally's Beauty and I actually got one once at Walmart. Almost all Beauty Supplies sell them seperatly. Just be aware not all dryers will fit the universal.. I found this to be a problem but personally a diffuser is something I won't go without. It changes the look of curly hair completely if done correctly.
And, no, you won't look a chola
I am also a product junkie. Permed hair ESPECIALLY needs product. I actually perm mine on giant rods because I have fine, thin, straight as NAILS hair..
I also love Root Pump. The Big Sexy is my favorite.
Don't forget Hairspray.. I always spray before and after I diffuse.. Right now, I am using Big Sexy Hairspray, Big Sexy Root Pump, Sexy Curl Creme and occasionally I spray some random product in there, sometimes I use gel..
Also... I forgot to mention... DO NOT try to diffuse your hair super wet and don't add product to SUPER wet hair.. you WON"T like the results.. Adding product to super wet hair is a big mistake many make. Your hair shaft can only absorb so much.. If your hair cuticle is absorbing mostly water then you end up wasting alot of your product and your product can't do what it is meant to do
What I do is towel dry my hair really well, add my product, put my makeup on THEN diffuse. About 15 min.
FYI: But if you wait to long and let the product sit in your hair and its starts to make your hair Crunchy... then you have waited to long
It's a happy medium.. you will start to figure it out
I will try and post some pics tomarrow when I do my hair
Also if you want to get the chola look... Buy dippity due gel and white rain hairspray.. spray the heck out of it and glob a handful on your super wet hair... Tada... Finished look
