When my Cricket would get her bouts of pancreatitis, her intestines would fill up with air and she would have extreme pain. She had vomiting and diarrhea with most of the bouts. She would receive antibiotics, antiemetic (antinausea/vomiting) drug, and a pain med. Depending on how quick I got her in (she had chronic pancreatitis in her elderly years), she may or may not require IV fluids and hospitalization.
I would definitely have a cPL done. I would be concerned about the prolonged hiding. I agree w Ellie May, I would have a workup for where this pain is coming from if the cPL is negative.
If it is pancreatitis, his diet will have to change. Cricket was on a prescription I/D canned food we got from the vet. It was not expensive. It really wasn't much more than what we paid for her food already.
Hope you get some answers for poor little Tucker and he gets back to being his old self again. |
