I need to vent.
Last Friday, my older brother, younger brother, my younger brother's friends, and I went out. We went out to Hollywood to get a bite to eat. When we got there and finally found metered parking that was available, a guy with cones comes out to tell us we had to move. We couldn't have our cars there.
I checked all the signs and the only thing it said was, metered parking, maximum 2 hours (or something like that) enforced from 8 am to 8 pm. It was 6:30 pm when we got there. I didn't understand what this guy's issue was.
He finally explained he was there to cone off the street parking for a club, so it's patrons would have somewhere to park through their valet. Usually, I'm not the confrontational type of person. But he was really pushy trying to get my baby bro to move his car. No one, and I mean NO ONE messes with my baby bro and gets away with it. I demanded he show me a city permit that would allow him to ask me to remove my car from a public street parking spot that had a meter. He argued back, repeating over and over that I HAD to move the car, it was his spot. He went ahead and coned off every other spot that wasn't taken by my brother and his friend's car. I asked them to please move their cars, as I was afraid they would tow both cars illegally. I had my camera so I started taking pictures. I took pictures of the intersection, the club, the coned off spaces, the guy, and all the street signs. He couldn't produce a city permit, so I know he had no right to ask me to leave.
Besides, it was 6:30!!!! The club doesn't open till 8. The hoochie momma's that come get hammered at their club usually have rides, and don't show up till 9 or 10, and my brothers and our friends took all of 1 hour to have dinner.
I've made a few phone calls today, and will make more tomorrow. I'm just so mad they think they could push us around because they felt like it.
