Personally, I don't think it has anything to do with where it was made...but more of a response to what our market is demanding. I think everyone wants the bigger, better, smaller, faster, newest thing and I don't think (most) people care that much about something lasting forever...they just want it to be new and grand. I remember my first computer lasted me without any issues (except viruses of course) for approximately 6 years? Nowadays I can get two years out of a laptop if I'm lucky
