I'm actually not surprised a yorkie is in a high kill shelter, the Lancaster/Palmdale area is a developing area. Back when everyone was buying houses, that was the number one place to buy. Most people paid around $300K for a 2 story 4-5 bedroom house, with a formal dining area, laundry room, 2-3 car garage, and on and on. The house my dad owns now near the harbor is worth more than that today in this bad economy. It's a tiny 2 bedroom house. A lot of people that bought in Lancaster/Palmdale lost their houses when the economy went belly up.
