Gucci, who will be 5 in September, has a silvery coat. Recently some of the roots have darkened to black. This past week he even looked like he had a black stripe circling around his belly but after grooming, it evened out. I was also suprised at a color coat change at this stage of the game. I thought it may have been a change in food (I took him off chicken for awhile to see if he was allergic) but that wasn't it.
