I can't be of any help to you. I just wanted to say how cute your baby is! Are the red tips all over the body or just in that particular spot? My Betty Boop is 2 years old and is a silvery/smokey color on her body, but I noticed today she has root growth that looks dark. So, I think she is going to change colors and be darker.
